The Te Staff / Matexipar game was a thrilling example of the strategic and defensive game so beloved by Borschlanders. The old have learned to love the slow build up of tension and the beautiful team work and skating needed to excel in this sport as we play it. The young soon learn, as well, that goals, when so hard won, cause the bigger explosion of excitement, cheering and yodeling. The best things come to those who know how to wait, and how to stoke the slow fires for the greater heat.
Fishermen know this, too - the careful consideration of the weather and the sea, the careful placement of the lines and nets, the long wait, then the thrill of the catch, the pull on the line and the weight of the nets.
